This 2021 dated silver proof coin is an homage to "Aladdin and the Wonderful Lamp," the most well-known narrative in the "One Thousand and One Nights" fairy tale collection.
The Magical Lamp coin was produced using CIT's innovative smartminting technique at the Mayer Mint in Germany.
The 33 mm diameter coin contains 1 Troy oz. of .999 fine silver.
The coin features a dramatic black proof finish accented with selective gilding and vibrant jewel tones.
Mintage is symbolically limited to just 1,001 pieces.
Magnificent Magical Lamp Design
Obverse: The "Rainbow's End" emblem of the Republic of Palau appears on the obverse. The meticulously detailed undersea image is encircled by six five-pointed stars, along with the inscriptions "REPUBLIC OF PALAU" and the coin's denomination of "5$."
Reverse: An ornately decorated gilded lamp is featured on the reverse, in gorgeously sculptural ultra high relief, partially embedded in the starkly contrasting black proof desert sand. Mystical smoke emanates from the lamp, into the colorized starry night above, while three travelers are seen journeying upon camels in the distance. The coin's date of issue, "2021," is carved into the sand beneath the lamp.
